Responsibilities

I Serve as the council program Director and am responsible for the development and execution of all district and council activities. I provide leadership to the council’s camping, activities and civic service, training, and advancement committees. I also direct the management and operations of the council properties and facilities and serve as the staff advisor of the Order of the Arrow Lodge. A major portion of time is spent serving the Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch & Adventure Base.

About Michael

I am an Eagle Scout from Troop 116 in Charlotte NC. As a youth I served as Lodge Chief of Catawba Lodge 459 and was honored with the Vigil Honor. I served on camp staff in at Camp Grimes as the dinning hall steward and served on “Top Gun” NYLT staff.  I attended the University of Colorado Boulder and have a Bachelors degree in Sociology and attended Johnson & Wales in Charlotte NC for an Associates Degree in Baking and Pastry. I started my professional Scouting Career in 2013 in Fort Collins CO as a District Executive and was promoted to Sr. District executive in 2016. I started my Current assignment in November of 2017.

Hobbies

I enjoy Marvel comic movies and conventions and all things nerd culture. I enjoy playing and watching sports including Football, Basketball, Golf, Skiing, and Snowmobiling. I have attended four National Jamborees starting in 2005 and have served as a Staff member in 2010, 2013 and 2017. I have been to two National Order of the Arrow Conferences 2006 and 2015 and I visited the 21st World Jamboree in London, UK in 2007, hitting all three major 100th scouting anniversaries (World, BSA and OA). I am a big scout patch and memorabilia collector as well and have patches all over my house and office walls.
