I serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the council and give direction to the operations and administration of the council, subject to the authority and direction of the executive board. Primarily I give leadership to the achievement of the council’s philosophy, mission, and strategy, and to help it achieve its annual objectives and goals. I serve as the secretary for the council, the executive board and it’s committee. I serve as an ex officio member of all committees of the executive board. Responsible for strategic planning, council and Boy Scouts of America objectives, fiscal stability, membership and growth management, and volunteer and community relationships for the scouting program and unit service within the council. Carry out other duties of the office as set forth in the council bylaws, local and state regulations. I am the face of scouting in the council and am primary contact for all media appearances.
I am an Eagle Scout from Troop 206 in Flushing, MI. As a youth I was honored with the Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor and the Founder’s Award. I started my scouting career in September of 2004 as a District Executive in Flint, MI. There I served as Program Director and later Camp Director for Camp Tapico, the camp I attended as a Scout. In March of 2007, I was promoted to Program Director in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and also served as Camp Director for Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation. In October of 2008, I was promoted to Indianapolis, IN and served that council as a Training Director and Field Director. I started my current assignment on July 29, 2013.
I have been a season ticket holder for the Rapid City Rush, since July of 2013 and am looking forward to another great season of Rush Hockey! I enjoy camping and visiting national parks. I am active in my fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon. Additionally, I am a HUGE Michigan State University supporter and love Spartan Football and Basketball. Go Green!
